IDBR Latest Results - Published 13th February 2014
- In March 2013 there were 66,685 businesses headquartered in Northern Ireland registered for VAT and/or PAYE, compared with 67,480 in March 2012, a fall of around 1.2%.
- Northern Ireland accounted for just over 3% of UK businesses.
- In the UK there were 2.17 million businesses registered for VAT and/or PAYE, compared with 2.15 million in March 2012, a rise of around 18,000 (0.9%).
- Belfast District Council accounted for the largest proportion (12.6%) of VAT and/or PAYE registered businesses in Northern Ireland, followed by Newry and Mourne (6.8%). Carrickfergus had the lowest proportion with just 1.1%.
