Consultation and User Information

The Northern Ireland Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings (ASHE) is currently the subject of an assessment by the UK National Statistics Authority (http://www.statisticsauthority.gov.uk).  This assessment began in March 2011 and the UK National Statistics Authority team are currently undertaking the user consultation phase of the assessment.  It is therefore likely that some users of NI ASHE statistics will be contacted during this period in order to gain their views on this output.

The Northern Ireland IOS and IOP have recently been assessed by the UK Statistics Authority along with equivalent UK indicators.  The UK Statistics Authority published its Assessment Report of the Northern Ireland Index of Production and Index of Services on 6 January 2011.  Subject to meeting three requirements by April 2011, the Index of Production will be re-accredited as meeting National Statistics quality standards and the Index of Services will be accredited as a National Statistic.  These changes will be incorporated into the April 2011 statistical bulletin.  The report can be accessed at:
