Consultation on the Implementation of the EU Third Internal Energy Package 25 October 2010 | Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment (DETI)

The Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment seeks views and comments on the implementation in Northern Ireland of the entire Third European package of Directives and Regulations on market liberalisation in the energy sector, in relation to the electricity and gas industries.

In December 2009 the Department published two separate electricity and gas consultation papers seeking views and comments on requirements of the Third Energy Package relating to unbundling of the ownership of electricity and gas transmission networks. The consultation paper below has been informed by responses received by the Department to the Electricity Unbundling Consultation and the Gas Unbundling Consultation, as well as discussions with industry stakeholders. The Department received responses from 12 sources, and copies of the responses received are available below.
