On the 14 July 2011 the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment launched a statutory consultation on proposed new legislation, The Electricity Safety, Quality and Continuity Regulations.
The consultation addresses safety standards aimed at further protecting the public from electrical dangers, improving the reliability and resilience of electricity networks and assessing the foreseeable risk of danger from interference, vandalism or unauthorised access, in particular incidents involving children and young persons. Responses are welcome on all aspects of the consultation.
