[ 31-10-2003 ] TOURISM STRATEGY FORUM
Purpose The Forum will provide a structure to bring about a joined up government and industry approach to deliver on the agreed vision for tourism: The Forum will: · Ensure that the fundamental principles associated with the vision are adhered to when agreeing activities to implement strategic priorities and actions within the framework. · Seek to achieve a shared approach in the implementation of policies evolving under the Strategic Framework by establishing stronger joint public/private sector working relationships. · Review progress and performance of the tourism industry and the roles of Government Departments/Industry in delivering the agreed vision for tourism in Northern Ireland. · Provide a platform in which to exchange information and views between the Public Sector and the Industry. · Advise on the prioritisation of key issues for the Public/Private Sectors within the Tourism Strategic Framework. · Set assessment and monitoring measures. Representation The Tourism Strategy Forum will comprise representation from all major public and private sector tourism interests.
eetings / Working Methods It is intended that the Forum will be convened twice a year. The executive support for meetings will be provided by DETI.
